I'm Jorietha, a family photographer based in Woerden, Utrecht, creating natural family, maternity and newborn photography throughout the Netherlands.
I have always been drawn to the moments that happen when no one is thinking about the camera.
My photography is about keeping this chapter of your family exactly as it feels today. The photographs I create are not just images to look at, but memories that bring you back to the feeling of this season of life.
Real Moments Over Perfect Poses
For me, family photography is not about creating a picture-perfect AI version of your family. It is about capturing what life feels like right now, in this season you are in and creating photos that actually feel like you.
Children are not meant to sit still and smile perfectly on command. They are busy exploring, running around, asking a million questions, collecting little things they find, making funny faces, and getting excited about the smallest things. Those are the moments I want to capture.
During a family photoshoot, I do not expect your children to behave like little models. I want them to be themselves. You want to look back at your photos and remember how much fun you had playing together, laughing, and spending time with each other that day, not how perfect your dress looked or how many times you had to say “cheeeeeeeese”.
My goal is to create a relaxed experience where you do not have to worry about everyone sitting still, smiling at the right moment, or doing everything perfectly. You can simply enjoy being together while I capture the little moments, the connections and the personalities that make your family yours.
We see so many edited images online and now even AI-generated photos that look flawless, but they often miss the feeling behind the image. The things that make your family unique are usually the things that are not perfect. The messy hair, the favourite toy your child refused to leave at home, the muddy knees, the funny expressions, the missing teeth, and even the moments when your child decides they have had enough photos are all part of your story.
Years from now, these photographs will not only remind you what your family looked like. They will remind you who your children were at this exact moment. The way they laughed, the things they loved, their little personalities, and the everyday moments that are so easy to forget as they grow.
Originally from South Africa, I now call the Netherlands home. I photograph families in English, Dutch and Afrikaans, and I love creating a comfortable experience for both local families and families visiting the Netherlands who want something natural and personal.
Whether we are walking through a quiet outdoor location near Utrecht, capturing your pregnancy journey, documenting those first weeks with your newborn at home, or creating memories somewhere else in the Netherlands, my approach stays the same.
